Rally to Defend Immigrant Rights

  • SF City Hall 1 Doctor Carlton B Goodlett Place San Francisco, CA, 94102 United States (map)

Join us for a rally to DEMAND that Mayor Ed Lee defend ALL immigrants by supporing the community proposal for Universal Representation. No one should be left behind!

We call upon Mayor Lee and the Board of Supervisors to fully fund a unique partnership between community-based organizations and San Francisco's Public Defender which would provide vital legal guidance to immigrant community members currently forced to navigate the maze-like deportation process alone. This partnership will ensure that those facing deportation, detained or otherwise, will get the proper support they need and deserve.

Currently, Mayor Lee is insisting that the funding only go to CBOs. As community organizations we know that the role of public defenders as first responders, supporting those detained and potentially facing criminal charges, is critical to meeting the growing needs of immigrants. We cannot do this work alone.

The time is now for San Francisco to stand in unity to uphold and defend our immigrant communities.

The time is now for San Francisco to uphold our values as a Sanctuary City.

San Francisco should stand by the 44,000 undocumented immigrants that call San Francisco home.

CALL TO ACTION: Call, email, tweet the Mayor's office to let him know you support Universal Representation and the Public Defender's office doing this work!
